The Los Angeles Lakers are in desperate need of a spark that is going to get this team out of this funk to fight their way back into the playoff picture as they currently sit out of in the Western Conference.
LeBron seemingly has an answer, but the team is not budging. According to NBA insider Scoop B, LeBron and his camp are insisting that the team signs free agent Carmelo Anthony to help the team with a late playoff push.
“LeBron’s camp is insisting on the front office signing Melo,” a league source with knowledge of the Lakers told me via text message this afternoon.
“But the team wants to go in a different direction.”
The biggest hole in the Lakers team right now is defense, which is where Lonzo Ball is truly missed. Melo’s defense is just one of many reasons why he’s no longer with the OKC Thunder and why he flamed out in Houston after 10 games.
