LeBron James is reportedly ready to commit to Team USA for next year’s Summer Olympics.
According to The Athletic, the three-time Olympian has also called a number of fellow NBA stars to get them to join him for the event, which is set for Paris, France.
The report notes that King James has already spoken to Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Jayson Tatum, and Draymond Green, who are all on board.
The likes of Devin Booker, Damian Lillard, De’Aaron Fox, and Kyrie Irving are also thought to have a strong interest in representing USAB in 2021.
Team USA’s recent World Cup loss is not the reason for LBJ’s decision, as his effort is reported to have begun way before the team’s exit, though he has not played for the United States since 2012. LeBron will be 39 by the time the 2024 Olympics roll around; Durant will be 35.
While the US has struggled in the last two World Cups, they have won four consecutive Olympic events. LeBron is a two-time gold medalist himself while Durant has won gold on three occasions. They are said to consider the next iteration a “last dance.”

Curry, meanwhile, has never represented USAB on the Olympic stage but has won two World Cups.
Durant was the MVP after the last event, with Tatum, Green, and Lillard all helping take the gold back to the States.
