The entire NBA was shocked as Shams Charania of ESPN broke the news that the Dallas Mavericks are trading their star guard, Luka Doncic, to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis. While many came up with their opinions, a journalist caught Lakers superstar LeBron James’ attention when he alleged that the four-time NBA champion is at the center of the blockbuster trade.
In a video shared by CBS Sports, NBA insider Bill Reiter claimed that LeBron James “had grown frustrated with Anthony Davis,” suggesting the 40-year-old forward’s involvement in the trade.
However, LeBron James was quick to deny the claims, and he blasted the journalist for spreading a fake narrative. The Lakers star took to X (formerly Twitter) and fired back at the Reiter. “You a fkn lie!!!” LeBron wrote alongside clown emojis.

Both Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis are prolific scorers for their teams. Davis has played 47 games this season, averaging 25.7 points, 11.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists. On the other hand, Doncic has missed out on most games due to injuries this season. In his 22 appearances for the Mavericks, the Slovenian averaged 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists.
