Despite LeBron James having achieved nearly every possible accolade in his basketball career, he hasn’t been able to dodge the playful trolling from fans. One running joke among NBA fans is the idea that James only reads the first page of every book he picks up. This joke gained attention on social media after James was seen multiple times with books but never seemed to discuss them in detail.
Most recently, the Los Angeles Lakers star gave fans another reason to keep the meme alive. James, who has publicly partnered with Hennessy in the past, shared a clip from a new ad where he’s seen reading a book titled “The First Page.” NBA fans immediately noticed the title and humorously pointed out that it fit perfectly with their ongoing narrative about his reading habits.
This isn’t the first time LeBron has found himself at the center of this joke. During a press conference, he once brought a copy of “The Autobiography of Malcolm X.” When asked by a reporter about the book, he struggled to offer a deep response.
After sharing the latest Hennessy ad clip, fans quickly jumped in to poke fun again. Many joked that the book’s title, “The First Page,” was a perfect representation of James’ supposed habit. They suggested that the book’s title reflects his habit of only skimming the first page rather than reading the entire book.
