LeBron James is speaking out on Brittney Griner and her her current situation of being locked up in Russia.
In a trailer for Friday’s episode of Uninterrupted’s The Shop, the Lakers star talked about Brittney Griner’s detainment in Russia.
… how can she feel like America has her back? I would be feeling like, ‘Do I even want to go back to America?’
LeBron clearly believes that the country isn’t doing enough to make sure she gets home.
The WNBA player and two-time Olympic gold medalist has been detained in Russia on drug smuggling charges since February. The Russian Federal Customs Service claims to have found vape cartridges containing the marijuana concentrate hashish oil in Griner’s luggage.
Griner, a seven-time WNBA All-Star and two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, pled guilty to drug charges in Russia.

The 31-year-old Griner is on trial for “large-scale transportation of drugs, an offense that can carry a sentence of up to 10 years behind bars in Russia,” according to The New York Times.
But despite her plea, Griner insists she had “no intent” of breaking the law.
“I’d like to plead guilty, your honor. But there was no intent. I didn’t want to break the law,” Griner said in English, which was then translated to Russian for the court proceedings, according to Reuters. “I’d like to give my testimony later. I need time to prepare.”
