Recently, Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz proposed a blockbuster trade between the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets that would sent Kevin Durant to Los Angeles and LeBron James to Brooklyn.
According to FS1’s Chris Broussard, LeBron James would not want to be traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Brooklyn Nets in a potential Kevin Durant trade.
“No, because I talked to somebody close to LeBron, and LeBron would not want this to happen,” Broussard said. “And I think the Lakers respect him enough that they’ll do what he wants to do. If he doesn’t want to be traded, I don’t think they’ll trade him. Obviously, he wants to win a championship, but he’s not desperate to the point where he’s gonna uproot his family in a place where he’s happy to go somewhere where he doesn’t want to be.”
James joined the Lakers in 2018-19, and they did not make the NBA Playoffs in his first season with the franchise as well as the most recent season.
In 2020, he led them to their first title since 2010 when they had Kobe Bryant.
As for Durant, he requested a trade from the Nets just days after Kyrie Irving opted back for next year. Durant signed with the Nets in 2019, but he has only played two seasons for the team since he missed the entire first season with a torn Achilles.
