LeBron James plans on playing for a few more seasons, but he might not want to remain in Los Angeles for the duration of what’s left of his career.
The Lakers star became the NBA’s top scorer with a 38-point performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night, passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become basketball’s scoring King.
LBJ’s fans will be focusing on that for some time still, but the 38-year-old forward hinted he is open to leaving the Lakers at some point.
Is LeBron James Asking NBA Teams To Come Get Him?
Speaking to Shaquille O’Neal after the game, James said he’s still motivated to play and can help any group win multiple championships.
“I feel like that’s what I can still do for any group of guys, for any franchise,” he said. “I can go out there and still help win multiple championships.”
It certainly sounds like LeBron is putting the NBA on notice and letting teams know he isn’t tied down to the Lakers. It’s no secret that the veteran is unhappy with the team the organization has built around him and seemed disappointed to learn that Kyrie Irving was headed to the Dallas Mavericks and not reuniting with him earlier this week.
