For years, the NBA world has witnessed the dominance of LeBron James and Anthony Davis as one of the league’s most iconic duos. However, with Luka Doncic now joining the Los Angeles Lakers in a blockbuster trade involving Davis, a new superstar pairing is set to take over.
Although Doncic has just arrived in L.A., LeBron has already shown strong support for his new teammate. During an interview with the Dallas Morning News, Dallas Mavericks team owner Patrick Dumont made a bold statement, suggesting that Doncic lacks the character and dedication needed to lead a team to a championship.
LeBron wasted no time in responding to Dumont’s comment. The 40-year-old star took to Instagram and shared a cryptic Turkish proverb on his story.
“When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king. The palace becomes a circus,” the proverb read.

Patrick Dumont Praises Luka Doncic Despite Recent Criticism
Despite his recent criticism of Luka Doncic’s leadership qualities, Patrick Dumont made it clear that he still holds great respect for the superstar. During his interview with the Dallas Morning News, Dumont expressed his admiration for Doncic and his impact on the franchise.
“I’m a big Luka fan. My family are big Luka fans. I have a really deep appreciation for what he brought to this team, what he brought to Dallas, and the excitement he brings. He’s an electrifying player,” Dumont said.
Doncic spent seven seasons with the Mavericks. Before his move to Los Angeles, he averaged 28.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game for Dallas. His accolades include winning Rookie of the Year in his first season and earning Western Conference MVP honors last season.
