Last night, during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 113-100 victory over the Sacramento Kings, LeBron James eclipsed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s all-time leader in regular season minutes played. After the game, James reflected on his lengthy NBA career and offered a moving but humorous perspective on adding yet another historic honor to his portfolio.
With 57,472 NBA minutes played, James now holds the best spot in the league. Before tonight’s match, the previous leader, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, had 57,446 minutes of playing time.
When asked about this insane feat, LeBron replied, “Coach came in and congratulated me. My teammates said ‘F**k off’. They told me I was old as hell. It’s a pretty cool honor. Obviously, any time I’m linked with some of the greats that played this game, to know I’ve been available to my teammates.”
He added, “I’ve been able to do this at a high level for two decades and continue to put myself in the record books of this game of basketball that I love so much, in the best league in the world is pretty cool. Very humbling…”
LeBron James has accomplished yet another feat with this one. James has already eclipsed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in an all-time leaders list more than once. LeBron James broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record for the most points scored in NBA history during the 2022–2023 season. James has scored 41,040 points, making him the current uncontested top. However, with the current win, James looks solid and also urged fans not to take his teammate Anthony Davis for granted.
LeBron James Reveals He Isn’t A Fan Of ‘Lot Of F***ing 3s’ In NBA
LeBron James, a forward with the Los Angeles Lakers, isn’t a huge admirer of the NBA three-point shot. According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin on X, he offered an intriguing aspect to the discussion over the all-star game concept.

James has adjusted to the game, even if he isn’t a fan. Since the 2017–18 season, he has made at least five three-point attempts. The Lakers star has incorporated that element into his game as a more than capable scorer. James is discussing the NBA’s overall strategy, though.
The fact that the number of threes decreases the shot’s value is an intriguing measure. Oddly enough, for the first time since the 2017–18 campaign, it is losing value compared to a two-point shot. Furthermore, James’ longevity may be a factor since the game constantly changes. In any case, he continues to believe it detracts from the game’s inventiveness.
