LeBron James on Thursday night did away with his filter when answering a question about teammate Anthony Davis.
After losing to the Denver Nuggets on opening night, criticism came swiftly for Anthony Davis for how he played in the second half. After dropping the season opener to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers responded with a big win over the Phoenix Suns. Leading the way for the Lakers was Davis, who finished with 30 points and 12 rebounds after totaling just 17 points and eight rebounds in the opener.
In that game against the Nuggets, all 17 of Davis’ points came in the first half and then he shut it down.
After Thursday’s win, James was asked about the team’s response to the outside noise. He made it clear they didn’t care while cursing live on air.
“We don’t give a shit about criticism about AD,” James said during a live post-game interview on TNT. “We don’t care. Nothing bothers us. AD doesn’t care. I don’t know if guys have figured that out. AD does not care. He’s not on social media, so he doesn’t see none of the crap. He rarely talks unless it’s to us. So, we don’t give a shit about it; and he definitely doesn’t. He’s going to do his job and we’re happy to have AD.”
The Lakers beat the Suns 100-95 despite trailing by 12 points entering the final quarter.
