The NBA has launched an investigation into long-time referee Eric Lewis in connection with a Twitter account that responded to several remarks about league officiating and defended Lewis and other NBA officials.
The account has since been deleted, but now LeBron James wants to know more about it.
The suspicions surrounding Lewis began when a photo surfaced showing his wife and children wearing Boston Celtics jerseys and now if it can be proved he was behind the account and tweeting about officiating decisions without authorization, he could face discipline.
Lewis had officiated a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Celtics earlier in the year. During that game, a controversial missed foul call involving LeBron James and the Celtics’ Jayson Tatum occurred.
The Lakers star waited little time tweeting about the unfolding saga.
“This Eric Lewis [poop emoji] true???,” James tweeted along with an eyebrow-raising emoji.

As he settles into the offseason, James has yet to comment on his playing career. But, one thing is for sure, the 20-year veteran clearly has his eyes fixed on the developing Lewis controversy.
Lewis could very well lose his career if things do not work out in his favor.
Lewis, who is in his 19th season as a referee, last worked Game 1 of the Western Conference finals between the Denver Nuggets and the Lakers.
