The Philadelphia 76ers need saving.
For the past several years, the team’s campaigns have begun with optimism and title aspirations only to end in disaster. From Ben Simmons to Jimmy Butler and, now, James Harden – it’s just always something.
It’s become clear that “The Process” is no longer something to believe in as Joel Embiid keeps getting left high and dry. And it wouldn’t be surprising if he eventually decides to up and leave.
Harden, who recently called president Daryl Morey a liar, has had teammates back him up in the wake of his scathing accusations, which is certainly not a great look for the organization.
Still, some believe that good fortune could be on the horizon for the Sixers if they make an unlikely move next year.

Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer has pointed out that the team could regain some semblance of respectability by making a play for LeBron James.
“If it’s the big fish I think Morey’s target next summer will be LeBron James,” he said on tTHE MISMATCH podcast. “It just makes sense logically, Chris, right? Who else would it be?”
James, who still has two years left on his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, would likely not come alone as he wants to play with his son Bronny before he retires. So any team moving for the four-time NBA champion and future Hall of Famer would need to draft his son too.
That in itself is easier said than done given Bronny’s recent heart scare that has left his future in basketball unclear. So it is a long shot for Philly, yet it’s not impossible.
