LeBron James was like everybody else who couldn’t believe what they were seeing on the controversial Roe v. Wade overturn.
On Friday, the Supreme Court announced its ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade, which put an end to women’s constitutional right to abortion. It now means that states now have the power to set their own abortion laws without conflicting with Roe, which previously permitted abortions during the first two trimesters of pregnancy.
In response, James expressed his disappointment on the matter.
“It’s ABSOLUTELY ABOUT POWER & CONTROL!!” he wrote in response to this tweet:
The tweet he was responding to said, “If this was about babies, there would be universal healthcare. Free education. Free daycare. Southern states would be doing all they can to drop the Black maternal mortality rate. This is about power and control”
LeBron also retweeted a few more messages to his Twitter account:

The NBA and WNBA have also made their stance clear on the issue as they vowed to continue advocating for freedom, gender and health equity, as well as better access to reproductive health care.
