The family and friends of the 17-year-old boy who was beaten to death near I Promise in Akron last week spoke publicly this week.
Ethan Liming, who was found in the parking lot near the basketball courts of the I Promise School late Thursday night, died due to a blunt force head injury.
According to the Akron Police Department, there was a parking lot fight at the school between a group that included Liming and at least three other males who were playing basketball at a school court.
“Our condolences goes out to the family who lost a loved one!! My the heavens above watch over you during this tragedy! Pray for our community!” LeBron tweeted about the death in his school’s parking lot.
Akron Public Schools said Liming was a “rising senior” at Firestone Community Learning Center and was in the school’s Academy of Design.
Ethan’s stepmother, Cyndi Krause Liming, is pleading for help in spreading information.
