Bronny James is finally with the Lakers. After months of speculation, when LeBron James’ son Bronny was drafted by the Lakers, criticism of the pick spread like wildfire. His agent, Rich Paul, who had a big role in the move, was hounded by a paparazzi but missed the chance to extract a pivotal information.
A video posted on social media shows a reporter catching up with Paul at the airport. After giving answers to all of his questions about Bronny’s draft, LeBron’s agent refused to answer the last one. The question was whether the report about him calling the other team to tell them not to draft Bronny was true. Paul did not answer that and left the scene.
Bronny was selected by the Lakers at 55. Junior James reportedly attracted attention from multiple teams, but the Klutch Sports CEO called other teams to inform them not to draft Bronny. The information was revealed by former Warriors GM Bob Myers during the 2nd night of the draft.
But that is in the history books, as Bronny is set to create history of his own with LeBron James. They’ll become the first father-son duo to take an NBA court when they play for the Lakers. Despite the uncertainty surrounding LeBron’s future, he will possibly sign a new 3-year $162 million deal to stay in LA. And he also wants another name to join him.
LeBron James Wants Klay Thompson at the Lakers
Marc Stein recently revealed on his Substack that LeBron is hoping that the franchise gets Klay Thompson from free agency. Now that was reiterated by Adrian Wojnarowski, who revealed that LeBron called the Warriors guard to join the Lakers.

The Dubs are reportedly willing to offer a $20 million deal to Thompson before trading him. This decision from the franchise upset the guard, who is now looking to join the Lakers by taking a pay cut, according to Jake Fischer.
Thompson’s addition to the Lakers’ backcourt could significantly improve the roster. HC JJ Redick revealed his plan to have more shots and the 34-year-old’s shooting from beyond the arc would be useful. With free agency already underway, it will be interesting to see whether LeBron’s wish comes true.
