Tristan Thompson really did not want to have a child by a woman he barely knows, but he should’ve thought of that before he laid down in bed with her.
Thompson, facing a paternity suit, allegedly told the expectant mother he is retiring from the NBA after this season. Thompson’s personal trainer Maralee Nichols is suing the Sacramento Kings player for child support, with the baby reportedly due this week.
According to the text messages detailed in the suit, Thompson said that he “won’t be involved at all” and that Nichols would ultimately receive little money because he planned to retire from the NBA.
“Btw if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money. It’s completely wrong,” Thompson allegedly wrote. “You are aware that I’m retiring after this season. So in terms of support it will be whatever is required monthly for someone who’s unemployed. It’s Texas so it will be only a couple hundred dollars.
“So you better off taking this 75k I’m offering cause you won’t get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who’s unemployed. All you will have is a baby with a father who has zero involvement with the child and a few hundred dollars of child support a month.”
