If you thought LaVar Ball would be coming out and apologizing after controversy kicked off because of his “switching gears” comments, you thought very wrong.
The Ball family patriarch is not only standing his ground, but he downplayed his comments and even shifted the blame towards Molly Qerim.
When asked about ESPN’s decision to ban him from all platforms, Ball said, “I’m [going] to be banned and I don’t work for them. I’m gonna be banned from ESPN? I got my own show.”
He was then asked about his now infamous comment of “switch gears with me anytime” towards Molly Qerim and he stated her “mind was in the gutter.”
“I don’t even have to respond to that on the fact that I made no sexual intent or nothing,” Ball said. “Switch gears means change topics to me. Her mind [was] in the gutter if she thinking [of] something else.”
He then took it a bit further by stating the only situation that would make him actually hit on her.
“Only time I hit on her is if she’s breaking [into] my house and I mistake her for the boogeyman.”
