LaVar Ball seems determined on causing issues between his son and current teammates with his constant and ridiculous comments.
During a recent appearance on Complex’s Load Management podcast, he took aim at New Orleans Pelicans rookie sensation Zion Williamson, who happens to be the teammate of his eldest son, Lonzo Ball.
The CEO of Big Baller Brand explained why his youngest son, LaMelo Ball, is way more popular than Zion.
“Melo’s (aura) is better. Because Melo is worldwide,” LaVar said, via Jacob Rude of USA TODAY Sports. “You take Zion to Germany or Lithuania or Latvia or Estonia or London, they don’t know who he is. You take Melo over there, you know who he is. Like I said, take him over there and see. Ask who Zion is, they’ll look at you crazy like ‘Who is Zion?’”
LaMelo completely skipped college and played overseas with stints in Lithuania, and more recently in Australia.
The 18-year-old is expected to be selected somewhere in the top-3 picks of the NBA Draft.
Zion has been hyped since High School, and many see him going down as a LeBron-type of player when it’s all said and done.
