LaVar Ball, the father of Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball, wanted to clarify some things when it comes to the actions of his son following the news of the soured business relationship with former partner Alan Foster, who is accused of stealing $1.5 million from Lonzo’s business and personal accounts.
In the midst of rumblings that the Ball family’s apparel company was in danger of folding, Lonzo Ball went ahead and covered up his Big Brand Tattoo on his arm with dice instead.
“We had a meeting before the story came out, man. And, everybody was in they feelings. What I mean by that is, we’re not really thinking. ‘Cause I told them we’re shutting down everything, ’cause I don’t want him to get nothing.”
“So, I said it was shut down. And, that’s why DMo and everybody heard what I said and was going on them things. Okay, triple B’s is done.”
LaVar suddenly had a change of heart when he initially said he was closing the doors on BBB.
“You realize something,” he said. “I slept on it, I’m like, ‘Man, why am I shutting down my stuff? That’s my family brand. It ain’t got nothing to do with (Foster).”

However, by the time he thought to reverse course, the ink on Lonzo was already dry. In the end, it didn’t really matter since it was always covered up due to the NBA having a rule that prohibits players sporting visible corporate logos.
“Lonzo had to cover that Triple-B up anyway,” LaVar said. “You can’t play with no band-aid when you not even hurt. It feels weird playing like that.”
“The media’s making it a big deal, man. Our family stick together. Everything is good. The games still going on, man. My boys still going forward, and my family is still in tact. So, I’m good.”
