Before LaMelo Ball even entered the league, there had been an assortment of young and older fans arguing with each other over who should and shouldn’t be called ‘Melo’ as their nickname, as Carmelo Anthony has already been established into the league.
On Friday night, things reached a nerw level when the Charlotte Hornets took on the Golden State Warriors.
Former player Kelenna Azubuike, now part of the Warriors’ broadcast team, wasn’t too thrilled with Ball celebrating a three-pointer like Carmelo Anthony and promptly called him out.
“That celebration, he’s doing three fingers to the head like Carmelo Anthony. I know they’re both Melo but come up with your own celebration, be original,” Azubuike said after the young player drained a triple.
Ball heard the comments and fied back.
Needless to say, Ball didn’t take too kindly to being told off like that. He took to Instagram with the reply, “Been doing this since I was a jit (juvenile in training).”
