Russell Westbrook has been playing much better with the Lakers since coming off the bench, but he still might find himself playing for another team this year.
According to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, the Lakers and Jazz have had “exploratory conversations” around Westbrook. Haynes further added the Lakers are searching for the “most reasonable and logical options available” when it comes to a trade involving Westbrook.
In 50 games this season, Westbrook is averaging 15.7 points, 7.6 assists and 6.3 rebounds.
The Lakers have already made a significant addition by trading with the Washington Wizxards for Rui Hachimura. If the team could get a guy like Malik Beasley, the team could better compete in the Western Conference that is wide open for anybody to take it.
Westbrook is firmly in the conversation for Sixth Man of the Year, but he is not a guy that can help this team get over.
