As a fan, you always want your favorite team to land good players and for your team to win titles. The reality of the situation doesn’t really hit until you realize that prices are going to skyrocket once your favorite franchise gets to that point.
Lakers fans are about to find out for the upcoming season.
We are still months away from the start of the 2019-2020 season, but Lakers fans will have to put back a lot of dough if they want to see LeBron James and Anthony Davis play alongside each other up close.
Brett Goldberg, co-CEO of no-fee secondary ticket marketplace TickPick, expects Lakers ticket prices to top the Association next season.
“With the Lakers landing Anthony Davis, it’s a near lock they’ll have the most expensive ticket heading into the 2019-20 season. After comparing the price jump from the season before LeBron joined the Lakers to last season, we project ticket prices to increase 15 to 20 percent next season with the addition of AD.”
With that addition, the Lakers are heavy favorites to win the 2020 NBA Finals.
Those prices are likely to skyrocket even more with the new reports that the team is trying to add a third superstar to their roster in free agency.
