Los Angeles Lakers legend LeBron James has never shied away from expressing his frustrations. After recently voicing his displeasure over the Lakers’ preseason schedule, James turned his attention to the WNBA matchup between the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx.
During the fourth quarter of the game, a controversial moment occurred when New York’s Breanna Stewart drove toward the basket. At that moment, she collided with Minnesota’s Alanna Smith.
Surprisingly, officials called a shooting foul on Smith, giving Stewart two free throws. Stewart made both, tying the game at 60-60. It forced the games to overtime, where the Liberty eventually secured a 67-62 win.
However, LeBron wasn’t convinced the call was correct. After the game, he took to social media and criticized the referees for their decision.
“I’m sorry but that wasn’t a foul! Let the damn players dictate the outcome of a close battled tested game,” he wrote on X.
