Bronny James, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James, has faced a challenging journey to professional basketball. Before entering the NBA Draft, Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest during a practice session at the University of Southern California.
The incident required a medical procedure. The incident limited him to just one college season, as he missed several months recovering. Despite these setbacks, Bronny achieved his dream of making it to the NBA, joining the Los Angeles Lakers. However, his time with the Los Angeles Lakers has been challenging as he struggled to find his rhythm on the court.
In a bid to help him improve, the Lakers assigned him to the G-League. During the G-League Winter Showcase on Saturday, Bronny broke his silence on the mental health challenges he has faced since his cardiac arrest.
“I’ve become resilient over these past couple of years fighting through injuries, mental illness, stuff like that. Just, you know, coming in and working every day and staying the course,” Bronny said.
“Trying to get past that. It’s difficult, but I’m trying to work at it every day,” Bronny added.
Jeff Teague Defends Bronny James, Says He’d Dominate Caitlin Clark in One-on-One
Despite a challenging rookie season, Bronny James has continued to receive support from NBA legends and former players, including former NBA guard Jeff Teague. On a recent episode of the Club 520 podcast, Teague made a bold claim, asserting that Bronny would dominate WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark in a one-on-one game.

“Caitlin would not score a point on Bronny, bro. He would beat her by 60, bro. He would legit beat her 20-0. Bryce James would beat her 20-0,” Teague said.
Bronny’s debut season with the Los Angeles Lakers has been underwhelming statistically. In seven games, he averaged just 0.6 points, 0.1 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game. In stark contrast, Caitlin Clark had an exceptional rookie season with the Indiana Fever, averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, 5.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game.
