A blockbuster trade proposal has the Los Angeles Lakers landing a big man and prolific scorer to complement LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
The Lakers got off to a horrendous start this past season and found themselves at 25-31 following a Feb. 9 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. But they caught fire after the trade deadline and advanced all the way to the Western Conference Finals, where the Purple and Gold were swept by the eventual NBA Champion Denver Nuggets.
It’s quite obvious that the Lakers need another dynamic scorer to complement their All-Star duo if they’re to contend for a championship next season.
In a video posted at Bleacher Report, Ku Khahil proposed an enticing scenario that would see the Lakers acquire Bojan Bogdanović from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Malik Beasley and the No. 17 selection in Thursday’s draft (h/t Austin Boyd of Heavy.com):
“Out of all the trades I have on here, I think is the most likely one. I could really see both teams wanting to do this. … I’ll be honest, I would not be shocked if this trade happened on draft night.”
Bogdanović is coming off arguably the best season of his career with the Pistons, having averaged 21.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. He shot an impressive 48.8 percent from the field and drained 41.1 percent of his shots from beyond the arc.

With the Pistons in rebuilding mode, this trade package proposed by Khalil definitely makes sense. They’d be getting the No. 17 selection and a quality rotational peace in Beasley, a career 37.8 percent shooter from three-point range.
Los Angeles has limited trade assets because of previous blockbuster deals for Davis and Russell Westbrook. But if they can add a big-time scorer like Bogdanović, their chances of winning the NBA title in 2024 will have gone up considerably.
