The Los Angeles Lakers recently made two significant trades before the trade deadline. They traded Dalton Knecht to the Charlotte Hornets for center Mark Williams. However, this trade has recently been canceled. Lakers legend Magic Johnson shared his honest thoughts on the failed trade.
The Lakers canceled the trade after the Hornets failed to meet one of the conditions outlined in the agreement. Mark Williams’ unsuccessful physical exam was a major factor in the trade’s collapse. Upon hearing the news, Johnson took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts.
“What a big blow to the Lakers. The trade with the Hornets is rescinded due to Mark Williams’ failed physical,” Johnson wrote in his post on X.

Magic Johnson Raises Intriguing Question About Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis Trade
Recently, the Lakers generated significant excitement within the NBA community by securing Luka Doncic through a major trade with the Dallas Mavericks. In return, the Mavericks received Anthony Davis, marking a remarkable transaction. This blockbuster deal has elicited reactions from numerous players and analysts across the league. Notably, former NBA player Magic Johnson posed a thought-provoking question concerning the implications of this trade.
“Usage rate may be a problem for the Lakers because LeBron, Luka, and Austin all love to have the ball in their hands. How will Coach JJ Reddick design an offense that keeps all 3 of them happy?” Johnson wrote in his post on X.
