JJ Redick went back to being a podcast host. Before taking up the responsibility of being the Lakers’ head coach, Redick hosted a podcast. He then chimed in with his takes on several significant issues about the NBA. Now, while he does not get the opportunity often, Redick recently chimed in about the NBA’s declining viewership.
“I don’t think we … have done a good job of storytelling, of celebrating the game…If I’m a casual fan and you tell me every time I turn on the television that the product sucks, well, I’m not going to watch the product.” a frustrated Redick opined. Although he did not name any particular personality who has been portraying NBA in a shady light, the writings on the wall could be fathomed.

‘Inside The NBA’ has been one of the major platforms where the league gets most of its exposure. Thus, when names like Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal criticize the product heavily, the fans are bound to be impacted. Redick also stressed the need to celebrate the league as some impeccable athletes are taking the game to newer heights. Meanwhile, JJ Redick is not the only one commenting on the raging issue.
Magic Johnson Has A Bold Take On Declining NBA Ratings
The NBA ratings have been going down considerably in the last couple of months. While this might soon become a big issue, several individuals are trying to find the exact reason for the same. "They don't hate each other. I hated Larry [Bird] and every Celtic. I really don't like you [Paul Pierce] but you my little brother. Now I love you because you're out of that green & white." 😂 pic.twitter.com/yJyum6dxGH
“The Celtics and Lakers hated each other. It made for great TV and people tuned in. And now, I don’t know if it’s AAU, but everybody is shaking each other’s hand, everybody likes each other, they won’t go at each other really hard,” Johnson stated. He also gave examples of his insane rivalry with the likes of Larry Bird and Dr. J. Thus, with many theories being thrown around, it remains to be seen how fast the NBA can regain their lost ratings.
