This past Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers were supposed to take on the Clippers, but the NBA decided to cancel because many of the players weren’t emotionally invested in playing in that game. Kobe Bryant had just lost his life 2 days before and emotions were still raw.
The Los Angeles Lakers are returning to action with a home game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday and they are doing so in a big way.
There will be a Kobe Bryant shirt on each seat at Staples Center for fans in attendance, with No. 8 and 24 shirts on each side of the arena.
Aside from the shirts, there are sure to be other tributes throughout the night. His impact was felt well beyond the basketball court as many different people from other countries have and still are mourning his untimely death.
Frank Vogel has revealed that the coaching staff will honor Kobe with their own gesture by wearing his Nike sneakers on the bench tonight.
