The Los Angeles Clippers are a franchise that is trending upwards and might stay that way for quite some time.
This week, the franchise unveiled plans for a new, 18,500-seat, billion-dollar arena in Inglewood that is going to be completely funded by owner Steve Ballmer, who is the wealthiest owner of a professional American sports franchise.
The team also showcased the proposed practice facility, team offices, medical facility, retail stores, restaurants and parking that would accompany the arena on a 26-acre Inglewood Basketball & Entertainment Complex.
The plan of action is to get construction on it going in 2021 and to finally open it three years later.
The team has been forced to share the Staples Center with the Los Angeles Lakers and the NHL’s Kings for years. It’s time to usher in a new era for Clippers basketball.
