On Thursday, the city of Los Angeles basically came to a grinding halt from 10am to the early morning hours of Friday as everybody came out to show their respects for slain rapper Nipsey Hussle.
Nipsey Hussle’s love of basketball was evident as he was a regular at Lakers games and other stadiums across the country, and that includes being in attendance for the Elite 8 game where he was cheering on Texas Tech less than 24 hours before he would meet his untimely demise.
His legacy and appreciation of the game will live on at the corner of Crenshaw Boulevard and 60th Street, where artists are putting the finishing touches on the Nipsey Hussle Memorial Basketball Court.
The court will officially open with a ribbon cutting this weekend.
Nipsey was shot and killed March 31st, just outside his Marathon Clothing store.
