The Brooklyn Nets have reportedly given Kyrie Irving permission to seek a sign-and-trade deal with any of the other 29 teams in the NBA.
However, shortly after receiving the approval to do so, he went ahead and exercised his $36 million player option for 2022-23, as per NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
A reunion with LeBron James in Los Angeles with the Lakers has been the rumor going around as of late, but Kyrie would have had to take a massive pay cut in order to make that happen, something he was obviously not willing to do.
It is still hard to see Irving suiting up for the Nets when the season starts this fall with all of the drama that has followed him since joining Brooklyn.
To make things even more confusing, Kyrie posted a “I know who I am” tweet, just to keep everyone guessing.
