The Minnesota Timberwolves secured a crucial victory in Game 4, forcing a Game 5 in their series against the Dallas Mavericks. Despite initial hopes of sweeping the Timberwolves, Kyrie Irving extended high praise for Minnesota’s star, Anthony Edwards, following the Wolves’ win.
Irving mentioned Edwards’ fearless mentality and consistent performance throughout the series in press conference.
“He’s been pretty consistent. Having that no fear mentality like I talked about. He’s very confident in himself,” Irving told.
In Game 4, Edwards and his teammate Karl-Anthony Towns combined for an impressive 54 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists. Edwards alone recorded 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists, becoming the youngest player in NBA history to achieve those numbers in an elimination game.

Following the game, Irving shared his thoughts on the disappointing loss and the road ahead.
“A loss like this definitely hurts. It definitely stings. I would have loved to close out the series on our home floor – sorry fans,” Irving said.
In the hard-fought game, Irving recorded 16 points on 6 of 18 shooting, including 1 of 6 from beyond the arc, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists.
