After four seasons with the Brooklyn Nets, Kyrie Irving made a significant move to the Dallas Mavericks on February 6, 2023. In exchange, the Nets received Dorian Finney-Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, an unprotected first-round pick for 2029, and second-round picks for both 2027 and 2029.
This trade paired Irving with star player Luka Doncic, creating a powerful duo. During a recent press conference, Irving surprised everyone with his bold statement regarding his trade with the Mavericks. He described the deal as a victory and mentioned that he felt he was “bad goods” during his exit from Brooklyn.
“Best trade in the business baby. We won that trade! We won that trade! I was bad goods.” Irving said (Via Noah Weber).
