According to a recent report by NBA insider and analyst for The Athletic Shams Charania, Kristaps Porzingis, the power forward for the Boston Celtics, has nearly recovered from his injury and is expected to return for game 1 of the NBA finals against the Dallas Mavericks. Charania mentioned that Kristaps has participated in multiple scrimmages for his calf injury and has fully recovered to play in the next game.
“Boston’s Kristaps Porzingis (calf) has completed multiple scrimmages in recent days and is expected to return to action for Game 1 of the NBA Finals vs. Dallas on Thursday night, barring a setback, sources tell The Athletic and Stadium. Porzingis has been sidelined since April 29.” Charania wrote in his latest post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Kristaps Porzingis Suffered Injury in Round 1 Series of the Playoffs
Since the April ending, Porzingis has been unable to play due to an injury sustained in Game 4 of the Celtics’ round 1 playoff series against the Miami Heat. Despite his absence, Boston has performed remarkably well, suffering only one loss out of the ten games he missed during the playoff run. However, when he is fit, the Celtics are a much stronger team, as evidenced by his impressive regular-season averages of 20.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks.
Former NBA player Chandler Parsons recently stated that no one in Dallas likes Kristaps Porzingis. Parsons also mentioned that the crowd boos at Porzingis every time he touches the ball on the court.
Porzingis will return to action on Friday, June 7th, at TD Garden for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Mavericks.
