Ronnie Singh, also known as “Ronnie2K” made headlines earlier this week when he told ESPN that some NBA players have bribed him for higher ratings in the NBA 2K franchise.
Ronnie2K is the digital marketing director of the timeless NBA 2K video game franchise. He made the claim about being bribed by players during a recent appearance on NBA’s ESPN Today (h/t Timothy Rapp of Bleacher Report):
“We’ve had some bribing along the way. I’ve been offered some, like, grail shoes. I’ve been offered a variety of things. Here’s the thing: Stop offering me anything. You know how you can get your rating better? Play better.”
Golden State Warriors superstar Klay Thompson ripped ESPN for interviewing Ronnie2K, whom the former referred to as a “clown.” You can see a screenshot of Thompson’s comments below, via ClutchPoints:
In his Instagram story, the four-time NBA champion offered an apology to Ronnie2K, noting that he was in the wrong for cyber-bullying. A screenshot of Thompson’s apology message can be viewed below.

Thompson was curiously rated just 83rd overall by NBA 2K23 despite another strong season, one in which he led the Warriors to their fourth NBA championship in seven seasons.
Many criticized the popular video game franchise for rating the future Hall of Famer 88th overall in “three-point shooting”, even though he’s one of the all-time great shooters from downtown. Last season, Thompson shot 38.5 from beyond the arc.
Thompson’s teammate, Stephen Curry, is the all-time three-point shooter leader with 3,121. Thompson himself is 18th with 1,914, but he’ll soon surpass J.R. Smith (1,930) and J.J. Redick (1,950) in the career leaderboard.
The Warriors defeated LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers 123-109 on opening night on Tuesday. Curry led the way with 33 points, and Thompson chipped in with 18 points, a trio of assists and two rebounds. Thompson made two of six three-point attempts.
Thompson and the Warriors will try to improve to 2-0 on the young season when they host the Denver Nuggets this Sunday.
