Klay Thompson seems to have moved on from his time at the Golden State Warriors. Thompson, along with Draymond Green and Steph Curry, constituted the core of the famous Warriors trio. However, after donning the Warriors’ jersey for almost a decade now, he has cut the ties and moved to the Dallas Mavericks. And ever since then, Thompson has not contacted either Curry or Green this offseason.
In a recent interview with Andscape’s Marc J Sears, Thompson stated looked back on his 13 years of journey with the GSW. However, he also mentioned that now he donned a new color, his sole objective now was to get his team achieve a similar amount of success in the NBA. Thompson said, “I’m locked in. Not really (on keeping in touch with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green). I will see them when I see them. That’s it.”
Thompson further stressed the fact that despite the Warriors being a golden chapter in his life, it was over for good. Instead, there was still time for Thompson to put in some quality efforts and win his 5th NBA title this season. The 34-year-old stated, “I’m in the midst of trying to win here. There is no point in missing anything when we have such a great opportunity here to be great. There’s no point in looking back …I got to look forward. I got to try to give my best self here.”
As for the Mavericks, the Dallas outfit has made a so-so start. With 5 wins and 5 losses from 10 games, the team really needs to pull up their socks real quick now. Their latest defeat against the Denver Nuggets came as a stinging blow as the Mavericks were tantalizingly close to winning. Unfortunately, things did not play accordingly, and Thompson and co. slumped to a 120-122 defeat. Meanwhile, as the Mavericks will look to turn things around, their next outing will be an emotional homecoming for Thompson. Or will it be?
Klay Thompson Feels No Emotional Jitters On His California Trip
Thompson has won some memorable games for the Golden State Warriors in the past 13 years. Thus, rumors are doing the rounds about how much of an emotional toll the next match will take on Thompson. After all, coming back to a court that he called home for so long must be a nostalgic feeling. But Thomspon is not here to make memories, but to prove his worth in the NBA, it seems.

Speaking on the matter, the 34-year-old dismissed any such possibility of emotional rollercoasters. Conversing with Mike Curtis, Thompson blatantly stated, “It’ll be good to see people you grinded with obviously, but to me, it’s just another regular season game in November.” Thus, it is evident that Klay Thompson is fixated only on his own and the Mavericks’ growth this season. With a long path still to go, it remains to be seen how things pan out for the NBA icon.
