The internet has been a boon for most of the part. Still, sometimes, it can be overwhelming, especially for celebrities who receive a broad spectrum of opinions on their actions daily. Kings star Domantas Sabonis recently revealed that he decided to do a digital detox to tackle negativity.
A considerable amount of negativity is directed towards celebrities and athletes on social media. It can have adverse effects on any person and even drive them to depression. Sabonis made the more brilliant move, leaving social media entirely to shield himself from all that negativity.
“You know me personally. I deleted all my social media at the beginning of the season. You know it is been the best thing ever, you do not have to worry about any of that and just go out there and play your game,” said Domantas to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Athletic. The Kings star revealed that he had deleted all his social media accounts, and it was the best decision he had made. He did this to focus on the season and his game.
He also remarked that his friends and family are with him, and nobody’s opinions matter other than his close ones. Domantas Sabonis’ actions are understandable, as many celebrities have fallen victim to social media’s negativity curse, which has even pushed some of them into depression.
Did Spain try to get Domantas Sabonis to join the national team?
The Sacramento Kings star Domantas Sabonis once revealed that the Spanish National team approached him to join them. Sabonis is originally from Lithuania, and his father, Arvydas Sabonis, is a legendary Lithuanian player who left a memorable mark in European basketball. An NBA insider asked Sabonis if the Spanish team had tried to recruit him for their national team, and Sabonis had an interesting response.
“I think maybe when I was super young. When I was 14, there was a camp. They tried to sell it: ‘That is just a camp, come over,’ but my dad shut that down very quickly. He was like, ‘No, no, you are coming to Lithuania this summer,” said Sabonis. He revealed that his father stopped him from entering the camp and took him back to Lithuania.
