Kevin Durant suffered a lower-leg injury in the second quarter of Game 5 that had him leaving the arena on crutches and in a walking boot. It was clear that his season was officially over.
Soon after Game 5 ended, Durant took to Instagram to post a blunt message following the Golden State Warriors win over the Toronto Raptors in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
The Warriors star admitted on Instagram that he’s hurting right now, but watching his teammates pull out the win eased some of the pain.
“I’m hurting deep in the soul right now I can’t lie,” he posted, “but seeing my brothers get this win was like taking a shot of tequila, i got new life lol. #dubs”
Durant had been missing in action since he strained his right calf against the Houston Rockets way back in the Western Conference Semifinals. Many are speculating that he may have torn his Achilles this time around.
The Warriors are set to host the Raptors in Game 6 on Thursday night.
