Kevin Durant has made his first public comments since he requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets earlier this week.
The 12-time NBA All-Star sen the NBA world into another frenzy with his cryptic message:
“The ones who were locked in that gym with me know what it is, they know what I’m about,” Durant tweeted. “If u haven’t been in there with me, ask around.”
Durant’s business manager, Rich Kleiman, confirmed to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski the Nets are working to find a trade partner, and Woj reported “more than half the teams in the NBA have already inquired” about what it would take to get him on their team.
If you wanted an example of how much it would take plus more, look no further than the Utah Jazz receiving four first-round picks between 2023 and 2029, a first-round pick from this year’s draft in Walker Kessler, along with Patrick Beverley and Malik Beasley when they traded three-time defensive player of the year Rudy Gobert to Minnesota.
The package for Durant will be massive.

The Nets were expected to take the NBA by storm with the combination of Durant and Irving when they signed them in 2019. Those expectations exploded even further when the organization acquired James Harden in a January 2021 blockbuster trade with the Houston Rockets.
However, a combination of injuries, inconsistent play, and Irving’s limited appearances last season because of issues related to his unvaccinated status created a headache and everything came crashing down.
Harden was traded to the 76ers and the Nets got swpet out of the first round by the Celtics. Now, both of them may be losing this offseason.
