The Phoenix Suns had a great outing recently. Squaring off against the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant and co. played exceedingly well to register a 108-84 victory. Now, such a victory surely does enhance the Suns’ chances of qualifying for the playoffs. However, in order to make that dream a reality, there is one particular athlete who has to be at his best- Kevin Durant. At 36, he is still one of the best bets for his team. And that in itself is a stark justification for his NBA longevity.
Playing against the Nets, Durant was emphatic as he dropped 24 points. His contributions played a major role in propelling his team to a much-needed victory. And quite expectedly, the 36-year-old could not be more happy.
“I ain’t a regular 36-year-old… I condition my mind, my body, to be a pro. So what else am I gonna do? Burn out? How many people playing at this level at my age? So you can’t compare me to anybody who’ve burnt out. It could happen, but does it look like it right now?” Durant told ’Yahoo Sports’ recently.

Looking at his season stats at a glance, his words seem pretty much justified. After all, averaging 27.2 points per game, with 6.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists at 36, is no mean feat. Meanwhile, with the Suns’ campaign not going as per plan, Kevin Durant recently lashed out.
Kevin Durant Blames Head Coach For Poor NBA Run
Kevin Durant has been fuming over the recent run of play from the Phoenix Suns. After facing a 92-118 loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Durant lashed out with frustration. And one of his main targets was none other than HC Mike Budenholzer.
“It’s a tough defense to score on if you thinking a shot is going to come open for you without you pressing the issue. We could’ve drove it a little bit more, but we don’t play against zone every game. We don’t have a zone package yet,” Durant said via Duane Rankin.

Thus, with things looking gloomy for the Phoenix Suns, they will need to find a way out of the hole. It will be interesting to see whether Kevin Durant becomes a key to their NBA puzzle in the long run.
