Kendrick Perkins is looking significantly annoyed at Joel Embiid’s recent form. While Embiid was supposed to be one of the biggest stars for the Philadelphia 76ers, he really failed to make an impact this season. Suffering from back-to-back injuries, Embiid’s season is currently looking in shambles. Adding insult to the injury was his recent poor performance against the Toronto Raptors. Now, Perkins has already criticized the duo of Paul George and Joel Embiid earlier.
Asking the 76ers to trade them both, Perkins has now taken a fresh dig at Joel Embiid. He now wants Embiid shut down for the entire season immediately.
“I think right now Joel Embiid is in a bad place mentally. We heard reports what was last weekend about him and knee surgery and here we are again. He needs to shut it down,” said Perkins on ‘NBA on ESPN.’

What Perkins was referring to was the fact that Embiid admitted that he might need yet another surgery on his knee. Already, the knee has been bothering the NBA athlete enough. Last season, Embiid played just 39 games because of a torn meniscus on his left knee. Unfortunately, the problems came back this year, and he had to sit out for 15 games straight. What was more disheartening was the fact that Joel Embiid looked visibly struggling on the court against the Toronto Raptors.
Joel Embiid Admits Mistake In Crucial Loss To Raptors
The Philadelphia 76ers lost to the Toronto Raptors in the latest face-off. However, one of the biggest reasons for the same can be cited as Joel Embiid’s critical error. With 20 seconds to go on the clock, Tyrese Maxey played smart by driving the ball to the basket and then passing it down to an unmarked Embiid.
Embiid received the ball right on the edge of the three-peat line. However, instead of attempting to score a 3-pointer, he tried to dribble and fumble the ball to give up possession. After the game, Embiid, too, realized the mistake and admitted the same.
