NBA free agency doesn’t kick off for until another 10 hours or so, but one NBA star apparently knows where he plans to sign and it won’t be the Charlotte Hornets.
It was just reported earlier this week that Kemba informed the Hornets and Michael Jordan “he does not want to be there” after they didn’t offer him a super max deal that he was eligible for, according to Stephen A. Smith.
According to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Kemba Walker is “on his way” to the Boston Celtics.
“Boston’s prepared four years, $141 million. They can still move some money around to get that max slot for him. [Walker’s] moved on from Charlotte. Those two will get together on Sunday night as soon as they can. Kemba Walker is on his way to the Celtics,” Woj said on SportsCenter.
Charlotte reportedly offered $160 million over five years – despite having the ability to pay him $220 over that same timespan.
The Celtics are already on the verge of losing Kyrie Irving and possibly Terry Rozier and Al Horford in free agency, so landing Kemba Walker is huge news.
