Kawhi Leonard, the Los Angeles Clippers star, has had a tough time in recent NBA seasons due to several injuries. The 33-year-old suffered a right knee injury during the 2023-24 NBA playoffs, which caused him to miss the remaining games.
Leonard was initially selected for the Team USA roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics but was later replaced by Derrick White of the Boston Celtics. However, it seems that he is close to completing his recovery. Lawrence Frank recently announced that Leonard will rejoin the lineup after sitting out a few games. In the meantime, the Clippers star is actively engaging with his new teammates on the roster.
Leonard told reporters in a recent interview that he has been keeping an eye on the new guys in camp, such as Derrick Jones Jr. and Kris Dunn. He mentioned that he is observing everyone’s progression but added, “Nobody has stood out to me so far.”
Basketball fans were surprised by Leonard’s statement and began expressing their thoughts in the comment section of Law Murray’s post on X. One fan said, “Wow… that’s a super sh*tty thing to say man… he wants out or his team s*cks.”
Meanwhile, another fan mentioned, “Kawhi to okc.”

Kawhi Leonard Unveils His Goals for the Upcoming NBA Season
Leonard played 68 games in the last NBA season and averaged 23.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. With the NBA preseason underway, some Clippers fans are concerned about the team’s championship chances. Although the 33-year-old is still recovering from an injury, he has shared his goals for the 2024-25 NBA season.
“As I get older, guys aren’t doing what I’m doing pretty much. You don’t see it around the league. Even when I was young… This is what I work for. I strive to get a championship. I’m not out there to try to play 82 games. I’m trying to win. Even tho that’s obligated for me.” Leonard said.
The Clippers suffered a loss in their first 2024-25 NBA preseason game against the Golden State Warriors, with Leonard watching from the bench. It will be intriguing to see the star back on the court after his recovery.
