Kawhi Leonard is entering his fifth season with the Los Angeles Clippers. Last year, he welcomed James Harden to the team after Harden’s trade from the Philadelphia 76ers. While Leonard and Harden could team up during the regular season, Leonard was unfortunately sidelined due to an injury during the playoffs, preventing him from participating in the Paris Olympics.
As Leonard prepares for his second season playing alongside Harden, he has candidly addressed the experience of sharing the court with his new teammate.
“The relationship has been great. He came in last year wanting to win and saying that he wanted to sacrifice and do the things we needed to do to win games. So going into this year, he has the same mindset,” Leonard said.
“You just want another guy on your team that is like-minded and is just willing to do anything that it takes for us to win. I think it’s a good relationship so far. We can be transparent to each other about how we’re playing, good or bad. So I think it will be good moving forward,” he added.
Clippers Show Depth in Preseason Win Despite Kawhi Leonard’s Absence
Kawhi Leonard faced injury concerns but still played in the Los Angeles Clippers’ first preseason game. He played the opening half despite his knee issues. His determination to compete was evident, as he aimed to help his team prepare for the season.
Although the Clippers lost that initial matchup, they rebounded strongly in their second preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets. They secured a 115-106 victory in this contest, but Leonard could not play due to his ongoing injury.
