Karl-Anthony Towns began his NBA journey with the Minnesota Timberwolves as the first overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, following a stellar stint at the University of Kentucky. Over the years, KAT has dedicated his whole career to the Timberwolves.
However, the scenario of his career changed recently when the Wolves traded him to the New York Knicks in a deal that included Julius Randle, guard Donte DiVincenzo, forward Keita Bates-Diop, and a future first-round pick from the Detroit Pistons. Towns recently took to social media to express his gratitude to the Timberwolves organization and its fans.
“Nine years ago, I arrived in Minnesota as a young man with a dream. Little did I know that this place would become my home, and its people would become my family. Your love, support, and unwavering loyalty have fueled my journey and inspired me to be the best player I could be,” Towns wrote.
“To the incredible fans, your support has meant the world to me. It gave me strength on and off the court. I’ll never forget it. You’ll always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything,” he added.

“I’ve been very fortunate to live the American dream. But for me, having a different set of eyes, seeing it through my mother’s eyes and what she had to do to really even feel like an American, I wanted to bring the resources that we have here to there and give kids the opportunity to have the best equipment and the best chances possible to not only make money for their family but also pursue their dreams,” Towns said.
