Karl-Anthony Towns was the first overall pick for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2015 NBA draft. The 28-year-old has consistently showcased exceptional skills and has become crucial to the Timberwolves’ team. However, he has not won a championship in his nine seasons.
Towns was recently traded to the New York Knicks as part of a three-team trade involving the Charlotte Hornets. Despite being traded, Towns expressed his belief that the Timberwolves truly deserve a championship in a recent interview on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast.
“Minnesota deserves a championship. They’ve been asking for a championship since the inception of the team. I’ve always said I wanted to bring them a championship. I wanted to be part of the championship team that finally brings that ring and that parade down to First Ave,” Towns said.
Towns hinted at his disappointment about not being able to pursue that goal with the team he had been a part of for so long.
