The Minnesota Timberwolves faced the Denver Nuggets at the Target Center on Sunday, and among the home crowd was Karl-Anthony Towns’ girlfriend, Jordyn Woods. She is often seen attending the Wolves games to cheer on her boyfriend, but her presence was extra special to Towns on Mother’s Day.
Woods donned a T’wolves jersey with the name “Jackie” on the back and an infinity sign. For those who don’t know, Jackie is the name of KAT’s late mother, Jacquelin Cruz. The tribute soon went viral as the gesture showed the deep love and respect between the couple.
While Karl-Anthony Towns’ night didn’t go as anticipated with the Nuggets levelling the series, his girlfriend’s thoughtfulness gave Towns something positive to take away from the game. Woods has been the key support to the 28-year-old forward after his mother’s passing and has remained the same for the last four years.
Jordyn Woods Fills Void of Karl-Anthony Towns’ Mother
The couple met through a mutual acquaintance in 2020. Karl-Anthony Towns’ mother was battling with COVID-19 at the time and soon left him due to complications from the viral disease.
After that, Jordyn became Towns’s support, and their relationship blossomed. In an episode of “Peace Of Mind With Taraji”, Towns said, “A woman that meant so much to me in my life left my life to be replaced by another woman to take that spot. I feel like in a way, when my mom passed, she was like, ‘I’m not going to leave you alone. I’m going to make sure you know who you’re supposed to be with.'”
