Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is receiving care after a scary event.
Abdul-Jabbar was hospitalized on Friday night after breaking his hip. The NBA legend was attending a concert in Los Angeles when he suffered a scary fall, resulting in the injury.
A representative of Abdul-Jabbar’s, Deborah Morales, told TMZ that he is “deeply appreciative” of the Los Angeles Fire Department and the “amazing medical team and doctors at UCLA Hospital who are taking great care of (him).”
“We are all deeply appreciative of all the support for Kareem, especially from the Los Angeles Fire Department who assisted Kareem on site and the amazing medical team and doctors at UCLA Hospital who are taking great care of Kareem now,” Deborah Morales shared on Abdul-Jabbar’s X account.

It isn’t clear which concert Abdul-Jabbar was attending.
The 76-year-old basketball icon has dealt with a number of health issues in recent years.
Abdul-Jabbar’s latest medical emergency comes after the star has dealt with prostate cancer, leukemia, and heart bypass surgery in recent years.
After winning three national titles with John Wooden at UCLA, Abdul-Jabbar played 20 seasons in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks and racked up six championships and six MVP awards.
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer was the all-time NBA scoring leader until last year when he was surpassed by LeBron James.
