Kanye West says Michael Jordan refuses to meet with him over the lyrics to his 2015 song “Facts.”
“Jordan still won’t meet with me,” West said on Drink Champs. “I’m trying to meet with Michael Jordan. I’m like, ‘Man! It’s a song, man!’”
The song includes the chorus “Yeezy, Yeezy, Yeezy just jumped over Jumpman.”
Apparently, that lyric got back to Jordan and he is seemingly holding a grudge over it that has lasted some six years and counting.
Jordan is notoriously petty and known for holding grudges as he showed by famously flying out the person who was chosen over him for his high school varsity team to his Hall of Fame speech.
As if you really need to be told this, but Kanye’s bar wasn’t even close to being accurate in the real world. His Yeezy brand pulled in $1.7 billion in sales last year. That pels in comparison to Jordan Brand, which had $4.7 billion in sales.
