The Minnesota Timberwolves amazed the hoop enthusiasts with their marvelous performance in the Western Conference semifinal series opener with a 106-99 win against the Denver Nuggets. All thanks to Anthony Edwards’ dominance in the Wolves’ offense, Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid’s impact on the defense. Reid turned the corner in the second half after getting a pep talk from the 3-time DPOY winner.
During a post-game interview, Gobert revealed, “In the 3rd quarter, I came to him and said, ‘f**k what’s happening, f**k what happened if you miss a shot, if you get fouled or anything. Just free your mind and just be you and just embrace the moment, enjoy the moment and I promise you you gonna make some plays’. And he did.”
Gobert’s encouraging words pushed the NBA Sixth Man of the Year to deliver a performance that helped hold back the reigning NBA champions. Reid stepped up for the team beside Gobert when it was most needed and, after the game, made his motto in the playoff tournament known.

Naz Reid Discloses His Playoff Motto
Naz Reid had an amazing grip over the defense and the offense, which became one of the factors in Saturday’s victory. Reid hit 7-of-11 shots from the floor and 2 from behind the arc, with 4 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal. The 24-year-old added 14 points in the second half and ended with 16 points in the 23 minutes he played.
While revealing his playoff motto in a post-game interview, Reid said, “first half I was getting my feet wet, getting used to the environment. I’m going to stay with it. No matter if I’m already up or if I’m down, I’m gonna make my runs. I’m gonna stay with it, stay solid, stay consistent. That’s my motto — be cool, calm and collected.”
